IT Purchasing Agent

Reference: 012599 Job Description This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. As the IT Purchasing Agent you will be responsible for processing IT Purchase Order requests and managing any related purchasing queries. Key responsibilities will include: • Process Purchase Order requests for users in the North and South American regions. • Manage escalations and queries from ADAllen Pharma Limited IT staff relating to PO requests. • Maintaining knowledge of the IT category, region or function in which they operate including market dynamics and procurement process life cycles. • Work closely with IT department as your main internal customer, to understand their requirements and how Global Procurement can best support these requirements, however, you may also work with other departments as required • Assist in developing IT category procurement plans to deliver maximum commercial advantage to ADAllen Pharma Limited to include selection and application of appropriate procurement processes for a particular product and or service. • Negotiating with approved vendors to obtain the best price and delivery times for ADAllen Pharma Limited • Support Global Procurement improvement projects to manage cost and performance improvement • Review purchasing requisitions for accurate data and appropriate authorization prior to creating a Purchase Order • Monitor spend trends amongst staff to prevent excessive costs (ex: bulk order where possible to save on shipping costs etc.) • Work closely with project owners on Capital budget purchase requests to assure cost savings overall • Maintain positive relationship with our vendors and internal stakeholders • Complete administrative duties as needed. • Special projects as assigned. • Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international As a Global IT Purchasing Agent your skills and experience will include: • Proven experience in IT procurement/category management • Experience of analyzing cost and spend and recommending improvements • Good relationship builder with both internal and external stakeholders • Good understanding of the IT services needed in a global environment from a hardware and software perspective.
